P L A T F O R M 4: Kimberlee Pérez / Emilie Slater / Lois Ahrens

P L A T F O R M is an open source lecture series designed to promote active discussion. P L A T F O R M is interested in creating a space in which writers/artists/academics/performers get to discuss things like research, practice, and process, offering a social discourse beyond their work. There is a brief Q & A at the end of each event.

Kimberlee Pérez is an Assistant Professor in Performance Studies at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. She will be talking about [the complex erotics of audiencing] in a lecture titled “Rubbing Up Against Difference.” 

Emilie Slater is a scholar & filmmaker. She will be talking about the discontents of modern labor law & new frontiers in labor activism in a lecture titled “The State & Labor in the Coined 'New Economy'.”

Lois Ahrens is the Founding Director of the Real Cost of Prisons Project. She will be talking about local criminal legal system reform in a lecture titled “The Real Cost of Prisons in Massachusetts.”
