Cinema has changed a lot since the turn of the century. What was once a specialized industry of trained artists and technicians now fits in the hands of school children. We consume more videos on our phones and devices than in theatres. The Post-Cinema Anthology features a selection of short films and microcinema from around the US and across the globe. These works push the boundaries of visual media through animations, documentaries, experimental techniques, and emerging technologies.
About the Curator
Sabato Visconti is a Brazilian-born multimedia artist and curator based in Northampton, Massachusetts. Their art portrays subjects entangled in systems often designed to fail or malfunction, as a way to interrogate imaging practices that have become absorbed by digital processes, hybridized media, online networks, and machine intelligence. Sabato's works have been shown at Tate Britain, ICA Boston, and the Museum of the Moving Image.
