An evening of lullabies with Polly Fiveash, Anand Nayak and Jim Eagan
We invite you to an unusually quiet evening, and perhaps a different way of listening. We'll provide comfortable seating as well as spaces to lie down. Bring a yoga mat or sleeping pad, and a pillow if you like. No applause. No alarm clocks. Leave the stress of the day behind. Quiet kids welcome.
Polly Fiveash & Anand Nayak write songs that focus on the little things that make up the big picture, the quiet streams that feed the river. Beautiful singing, natural harmonies, understated arrangements, a sense of humor and a search for connection. Anand also plays guitar with Americana veterans Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem and is a GRAMMY-nominated music producer. Polly’s song “My Grand-daughter’s Wedding Day” was recently included in Rise Again, the follow up to the folk bible Rise Up Singing.
Jim Eagan plays finger style guitar and sings folk and blues originals and covers in that inexhaustible vein explored by the likes of John Prine, Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark and many others. A late-comer to songwriting, the second song he ever wrote was covered by Jorma Kaukonen of Jefferson Airplane.
